APEC Business Advisory Council Calls for Boost in Trade, Digitalization, and Climate Action
TOKYO — Urgent actions to enhance trade, digitalize economies, and tackle the climate crisis were key topics at the third APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) meeting in Tokyo. The discussions centered on preparing actionable proposals for the upcoming APEC Leaders’ Summit scheduled for November in Lima, Peru.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the meeting highlighted ABAC’s ongoing efforts to improve digitalization in the Asia-Pacific region, specifically aiming to equip small businesses with access to digital tools and artificial intelligence. Additionally, the council emphasized the necessity of collective action to address environmental challenges, advocating for sustainable and resilient growth strategies. The theme of the meeting, “People, Business and Prosperity,” reflects ABAC’s commitment to fostering inclusive economic development through enhanced cooperation among APEC economies.
