Post: Andrea Robles Aims for Success at Asian Archery Championships Following IWS Bronze

Manila – Fresh off her recent triumph, archer Andrea Lucia Robles is now focusing on the upcoming 23rd Asian Archery Championships.

According to Philippines News Agency, Robles, the world's No. 66 archer, is preparing to compete in the event scheduled for November 3-10 in Bangkok, Thailand. This tournament will also act as a qualifying event for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Her readiness comes on the heels of a historic performance four days ago, where she earned the distinction of being the only Filipino to clinch a medal twice in the Indoor World Series (IWS).

In 2019, Robles bagged a gold medal at the IWS in Macau, securing her a spot at the 2020 Indoor Archery World Series Finals in Las Vegas, USA. Reflecting on her recent bronze in Lausanne, Switzerland, Robles expressed contentment with her personal best score of 585 in the qualification round and her consistent performance in the elimination matches. She emphasized that the preparation for Lausanne was extensive, focusing on both technique and mental strength, and is pleased with the outcomes.

The 25-year-old Ateneo de Manila University management graduate, currently the nation's top compound player, is also a part of the Ayala Center for Excellence in Sports (ACES) pilot program, Atletang Ayala, which includes a group of eight elite athletes.

Robles will be joined by fellow compound archers Amaya Amparo Cojuangco and Paul Marton Dela Cruz, as well as recurve archers Jonathan Reaport, Sean Tanco, Jason Feliciano, Charlene Santos, and the Bidaure siblings in Bangkok. The team will be supported by coaches Joy Mariño and Niño Sinco, along with World Archery Philippines president Atty. Clint Aranas and secretary general Rosendo Sombrio.
