Gadong: The true value of disaster information does not lie solely in the availability of data and information. The Deputy Permanent Secretary for Security and Welfare at the Ministry of Home Affairs emphasized this point during the Opening Ceremony of the Sixth AHA Centre Information Management Network, AIM-Net Meeting and Workshop. Organised by the National Disaster Management Centre, the event took place at a hotel in Gadong.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Dayang Nor Hamidah binti Haji Hamidon highlighted that true strength resides in the collective ability to process and translate information into precise operational actions. This ability is crucial, especially in acting as a key catalyst in efforts to save lives and minimize disaster risks. The meeting, jointly organised with Cambodian partners, serves as a strategic platform for strengthening data sharing protocols. It also focuses on leveraging digital technology for more efficient, informed, and resilient disaster management.
