Active Weather Forecasted for Brunei Through Early July
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN — The Brunei Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory, predicting active weather conditions from June 29 to July 4, 2024, due to the ongoing Southwest Monsoon.
According to Radio Television Brunei, The advisory notes that during this period, the atmosphere over Brunei will generally be stable but will experience occasional heavy and thundery showers. Winds could reach speeds of up to 45 kilometres per hour during or near these showers, impacting various areas across the country. The sea state around Brunei waters is expected to remain slight, below 1 metre. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, as the weather may cause disruptions including fallen trees, landslides, and potential flash floods, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
This forecast comes during the Southwest Monsoon, which typically lasts until September and is characterized by minimal thunderstorms compared to other periods.
