Post: Active Weather Expected in Brunei Darussalam Until 5th November

BRUNEI DARUSSALAM - The country is currently experiencing a transitional weather period, expected to last until the end of November, with active weather conditions forecasted for the coming days.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the active weather, starting tonight and lasting until the 5th of November, is attributed to a combination of a low-pressure system over the region and local wind effects, leading to more moist atmospheric conditions and the enhanced development of rain clouds. Residents can expect occasional heavy and thundery showers, particularly over inland areas in the late afternoon, with the possibility of the showers spreading towards coastal areas at night. Wind gusts may reach up to 45 kilometres per hour during or near heavy and thundery showers. Over Brunei waters, the sea state is expected to be generally slight, below 1 meter. However, there is a risk of flash floods, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas, as well as near river banks during continuous heavy rain and high tide. There is also a potential risk of landslides and fallen trees during heavy showers and gusty conditions.
