Post: Active Weather Conditions to Persist in the Country Until January 2026

Bandar seri begawan: Active weather conditions are anticipated to continue until Sunday, January 4, 2026. Showers, occasionally heavy and thundery, are expected to impact several areas of the country, especially during the afternoon and at night, potentially extending into the early morning hours. The region is currently experiencing the Northeast Monsoon season, which is expected to last until March 2026.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Awang Hassanul Kamal bin Haji Adam, Acting Chief Meteorological Officer, has advised the public to take precautionary measures in light of the forecasted active weather conditions. There is a significant risk of flash floods, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas, as well as near riverbanks during periods of continuous heavy rain and high tide. The potential for landslides, fallen trees, and roofs being blown off also exists during heavy showers and gusty conditions.

The public, including road users and fishermen, are urged to stay informed by regularly checking the latest weather forecasts, advisories, and warnings issued by the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department. It is important to take necessary actions to ensure safety during this period of active weather conditions.
