Bandar seri begawan: The active weather conditions have led to several landslides and fallen trees in multiple areas, prompting a series of emergency responses from the local authorities. The Fire and Rescue Department has reported receiving over thirty emergency calls related to these incidents.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the department received a total of 16 calls concerning fallen trees and 14 related to landslides. The department’s efforts have focused on removing trees that are obstructing roads and closely monitoring areas susceptible to flooding and landslides. These operations are crucial to ensuring public safety during the ongoing adverse weather conditions.
The Fire and Rescue Department has issued a reminder to the public to stay vigilant and adopt necessary safety measures. This includes ensuring that drains around residential areas are well-maintained, avoiding travel through flooded areas, adhering to speed limits during heavy rainfall, and avoiding staying or parking near large trees during periods of strong winds and heavy rain.
