32nd Civil Service Day Celebration Honors Excellence and Innovation
Berakas: With the theme ‘Resilience and Unity of the Civil Service: A Catalyst for National Prosperity’, the 32nd Civil Service Day celebration culminated in an award presentation ceremony at the International Convention Centre, Berakas. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam bestowed awards to distinguished recipients. Among the attendees were His Majesty’s sons, brother, and sister: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador At-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Radio Television Brunei, His Majesty was welcomed by several esteemed figures, including Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara, along with ministers from various offices. The ceremony featured a reading of Surah Ali-Imran by Awang Haji Muhammad bin Ali, followed by a video interpretation.
In his welcoming remarks, the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence emphasized the importance of digital transformation and the necessity for enhanced cooperation between the civil service and stakeholders. Efforts are underway to bolster public consultation through systematic and inclusive approaches.
Recognition was given to the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Department with a 4-star rating certificate for their performance. The Royal Customs and Excise Department, Postal Services Department, and the Department of Fisheries received 3-star ratings through the Public Sector Performance Grading Programme.
The Premier Innovation Award’s Gold Award was presented to the Nextgen Edtech Team from the Educational Technology Centre for their project, ‘E-RESOURCES 2.0’. The Silver Award went to the iNOVATE group from His Majesty’s Office for their ‘Sistem Pengurusan Digital (Sistem Aluan)’, while the Bronze Award was earned by the MOE Dev-Ops from the Department of Information Technology and Communications for the ‘Electronic Application Service Ministry of Education – Majlis Bersama Rakyat.’
Additionally, 46 government officers from 12 ministries were honored with the Excellent Public Service Employee Award, receiving a plaque, certificate, and cash prize. The event concluded with a Doa Selamat read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, State Mufti.
