Johor bahru: A delegation from Brunei Darussalam participated in the inauguration of the 100th anniversary of the Johor Islamic Religious Council and the 9th Multaqa Ulama’ Darul Ta’zim. The delegation included Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence, and Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. They attended the ceremony following a special invitation from the Johor Islamic Religious Council.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony was held at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre, Persada Hall Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Idris Iskandar Al-haj ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Temenggong of Johor, attended as the official representative of His Royal Highness Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim, The Regent of Johor. Other members of the Johor Royal family were also present. The Brunei delegation’s participation aimed to enhance bilateral relations and foster strategic cooperation in Islamic affairs.
