Post: World Cancer Day Celebrated with Focus on Art Therapy Innovations

Bandar seri begawan: The Brunei Cancer Centre at Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) hosted a World Cancer Day celebration on the morning of February 4th, highlighting innovative approaches to cancer patient support.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was attended by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, the Minister of Health and Chairman and Executive Director of JPMC. During the celebration, Datin Doctor Hajah Noraslinah binti Haji Ramlee, Consultant and Head of Early Detection and Cancer Prevention Services at JPMC, delivered a speech emphasizing the benefits of 'Art Therapy'. She pointed out that studies have shown art therapy can significantly alleviate depression and emotional stress, thereby enhancing the well-being and quality of life for patients.

The celebration also fostered community engagement by promoting the concept of peace through art. The event included the presentation of certificates of appreciation and prizes for winners of coloring and drawing competitions.
