VP Sara Duterte Advocates for Public Support of Government and Elected Officials
Urdaneta City, Vice President Sara Duterte urged the public on Saturday to extend their support to newly elected village and youth officials, as well as to national and local government officials. This call is part of her vision for achieving continuous progress in the country.
According to Philippines News Agency, she emphasized the importance of unity and support for government officials, including barangay officials, mayors, vice mayors, and other local authorities. She highlighted that when people rally behind their government, it fosters continuous development in their areas.
In her address, Vice President Duterte also advised against supporting groups that disrupt peace or engage in illegal activities. She specifically mentioned avoiding backing those involved in criminal activities, terrorism, the New People’s Army (NPA), scams, swindling, and illegal drug trade. She stressed the importance of maintaining peace in communities and aligning with the government’s stance.
During her visit to Urdaneta City and Binalonan town, Vice President Duterte participated in gift-giving activities for indigent families and vulnerable sectors organized by the Office of the Vice President. In Binalonan town, around 1,500 residents received gift packs, along with 2,500 residents in Urdaneta City and 520 persons deprived of liberty under the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology – Urdaneta.
Additionally, 518 residents of Urdaneta City benefited from financial assistance provided through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Each individual received PHP 2,000 as part of this aid.
