Post: Vehicle Linked to Missing Beauty Pageant Contestant Found in Batangas

Batangas City - A sports utility vehicle connected to the disappearance of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate Catherine Camilon was recovered by police in Batangas City. Philippine National Police spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo announced in a press conference on Friday that the Batangas City Police Station found an abandoned red Honda CR-V in Barangay Pallocan East.

According to Philippines News Agency, the vehicle was spotted by local residents on Wednesday and reported to the police the following day.

Fajardo explained that the car is now undergoing forensic examination, including macro etching of the engine and chassis and engine number checks to identify the owner. The police will also search for fingerprints or bloodstains in the vehicle. Two witnesses previously reported to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group - Calabarzon (CIDG - 4A) seeing a woman's blood-covered body being moved between vehicles on the evening of October 12, just before Camilon was reported missing. Camilon was last seen in a mall in Lemery town and had informed her family about a meeting in Batangas City. A police officer has been identified as a "person of interest" in her disappearance and has been relocated to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit's custody. A PHP250,000 reward has been offered for information regarding Camilon's whereabouts.
