Tree Planting Marks 55th Anniversary of Bandar Seri Begawan Renaming

Bandar seri begawan: 105 saplings of various kinds were planted at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Silver Jubilee Park as part of an initiative aimed at transforming Bandar Seri Begawan into a City in the Garden and contributing to climate change mitigation efforts. The tree planting activity took place on the morning of November 2nd in conjunction with the 55th Anniversary of the Renaming of Bandar Brunei to Bandar Seri Begawan.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman inaugurated the activity by planting three Bucida Green saplings. Members of the Legislative Council were also present at the event. The activity was organized by the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department in collaboration with Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam and included public area maintenance such as grass-cutting and cleaning works.
