Teenager Drowns at Tasek Lugu: Department of Fire and Rescue Urges Caution


Bandar Seri Begawan: The public is reminded to always be vigilant and cautious while swimming at lakes, rivers, or the beach. This reminder follows a tragic incident involving a teenager who drowned at Tasek Lugu on April 12, 2025. Authorities emphasize the importance of not swimming during uncertain weather conditions or when feeling unwell, and they urge the public to stay attentive to weather conditions and tide levels.



According to Radio Television Brunei, a fire engine from Jerudong Fire Station was dispatched to the scene after reports of the incident. The investigation revealed that a 17-year-old local male was found unconscious by members of the public. The Emergency Services team examined the victim at the scene before transporting him to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital for further examination. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead by the on-duty doctor.
