Tahlil Ceremony Marks 55th Anniversary of Bandar Seri Begawan Name Change
Bandar seri begawan: In celebration of the 55th anniversary of the name change from Bandar Brunei to Bandar Seri Begawan, the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department organized a spiritual ceremony. The event took place at the Royal Mausoleum on the afternoon of October 2nd and included the Reading of Surah Yaasin, Tahlil, and Doa for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien, Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit, and Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony was attended by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs. This spiritual event was part of the activities planned to honor the contributions of Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, who played a significant role in the development and modernization of Brunei Darussalam.
