Syar’ie Lawyers Certificate Presentation Ceremony Marks Growth in Legal Profession.

Bandar Seri Begawan: The profession of Syar’ie Lawyer is not to boast but rather to instil sincerity and adhere to the principle of responsibility to help parties claiming rights in court to avoid committing injustice and uphold justice. Speaking at the Certificate Presentation Ceremony for Syar’ie Lawyers, the Chief Syar’ie Judge of the Syar’ie Court of Appeal highlighted that the increase in the number of Syar’ie Lawyers in the country shows a positive development for the Syar’ie Court. Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Salim bin Awang Haji Besar expressed hope that the establishment of the Syar’ie Lawyers Association will unite the brotherhood of Syar’ie Lawyers in the country, Civil Lawyers, and Syar’ie Lawyers from neighbouring countries.

According to Radio Television Brunei, certificates were handed over to 35 new Syar’ie Lawyers. The ceremony also marked the inauguration of the Syar’ie Legal Consultation Corner and the Syar’ie Lawyers Mailbox. The Syar
‘ie Legal Consultation Corner is a dedicated facility provided to registered Syariah law firms to assist parties seeking information and legal assistance. Meanwhile, the Syar’ie Lawyer Mailbox is available on a subscription basis to facilitate correspondence between the Syariah Court and Syariah Law Firms.
