Post: Swiss Companies Offer Work Immersion Day for Filipino High School Students

Manila, Philippines - Swiss companies in the Philippines recently hosted a 'Day of the Future' event, providing Filipino high school students with a unique opportunity for a one-day work immersion experience. This initiative is part of Switzerland's commitment to education and vocational training.

According to Philippines News Agency, more than 200 students from various parts of the Philippines, primarily from Metro Manila, participated in the event. They were hosted by Swiss firms such as Roche, Novartis, Endress + Hauser, ERNI, Ivoclar Vivadent, SGS, Holcim, Impact Acoustic, and Nestle. The students gained firsthand insights into potential career paths and industry operations. Additionally, the Swiss Embassy in Manila welcomed 15 students from Makati High School, introducing them to various aspects of embassy work, including public diplomacy and consular affairs.

One of the participating students, Maron James Nicolas from Makati High School, expressed enthusiasm for the program, noting its influence on his career considerations, particularly in architecture. Deputy Head of Mission Celine Furst remarked that this is the first time the 'Day of the Future' event is held in the Philippines, with plans to make it an annual program. Swiss Ambassador to the Philippines Nicolas Brhl highlighted Switzerland's tradition of valuing education and the importance of connecting the education system with industry for empowering students.

The work immersion day was organized in partnership with the Department of Education and the Swiss Cultural Fund Philippines, aiming to introduce young Filipinos to diverse career options and promote personal development.
