Post: Sustainability Emphasized at 33rd IBTE Convocation Ceremony

Bandar seri begawan: The aspect of sustainability is increasingly becoming an important pillar in education, including Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET. Skills are now not only for building a productive future, but also a sustainable future that preserves the environment, optimizes resources, and supports sustainable development. The Minister of Development outlined the matter at the 33rd Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE Convocation Ceremony, held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas, 30th October morning.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid also urged the IBTE to continue empowering efforts in implementing training programs that encourage students to practice the values of sustainability through innovative approaches.

The Minister of Development stated that the country needs a TVET workforce who can plan, build, and maintain an environmentally friendly system-from renewable energy and green engineering to environmentally responsible work practices.

A total of 1,097 graduates received TVET Academy certificates, Level Five Diploma Certificates, and the Higher National Technical Education Certificate, HNTec. Also held was the presentation of the Best Trainee Award, Outstanding Academic Award, STARS Outstanding Award, and the ‘Chinese Ambassador’ Award.
