Six Individuals and Two Companies Fined for Miscellaneous Offences in Brunei


Bandar Seri Begawan: Six individuals and two companies have been fined for violating the Miscellaneous Offences Act by the Licensing and Enforcement Division, Brunei Muara District Office. The individuals were each fined $100 for offences committed during Operasi Bersih on February 26, 2025, at Jerudong Beach.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the individuals fined include two locals, Awangku Muhammad Aqil Saifillah bin Pengiran Anak Saiful Rezam and Muhammad Iman Rafie bin Rosedosmera, along with Rizqi Mubarok, an Indonesian, and three Bangladeshis, Md Fazlu, Abdur Rahim Bepary, and Kalam Miah. These individuals were penalized for their actions during the operation.

Meanwhile, a separate operation conducted on February 25, 2025, found two companies guilty of dumping garbage outside designated areas. Syarikat Mandiri Jaya Sendirian Berhad and Elwaed Sendirian Berhad were each fined $1,000 for their infractions in Kampung Lupak Luas, Mukim Lumapas, and Kampung Jerudong, Mukim Sengkurong. Failure to pay t
he fines may result in the cases being taken to court under the Miscellaneous Offences Act, with potential penalties of up to $9,000 for individuals and $30,000 for companies, or imprisonment for up to 12 months, or both.
