BATANES – A shear line has brought cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms to the northern section of Northern Luzon, impacting areas including Batanes, Cagayan, and the Babuyan Islands, as reported by the weather bureau on Sunday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in their 4 a.m. update, the weather disturbance will affect several regions. While Palawan, Caraga, and the Davao Region are expected to experience similar weather conditions, these are attributed to easterlies. Authorities have warned of potential flash floods or landslides triggered by moderate to occasionally heavy rains in these localities.
In contrast, Metro Manila and the rest of the Philippines are forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers mainly due to localized thunderstorms. Wind conditions across Northern Luzon will range from moderate to strong, blowing from the northeast to east, while lighter to moderate winds from the east to northeast will prevail across other parts of the country. Temperatures are expected to vary, with a peak of 31.8 °C around 1 p.m., descending from a low of 24.3 °C at 5 a.m.
