Shear Line and Northeast Monsoon to Bring Rain Showers Across Luzon

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecasted that Luzon will experience rain showers on Thursday due to the influence of a shear line and the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan.” In its 4 a.m. forecast, PAGASA indicated that regions such as Palawan, Quezon, and the Bicol Region will face scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line. These weather conditions may lead to potential flash floods or landslides in the affected areas.

According to Philippines News Agency, Additionally, the northeast monsoon is expected to bring light rains over areas including Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, and Apayao. Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience isolated light rains. The rest of the Philippines will see isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will be prevalent across Luzon, posing a warning for sea travel in these conditions. In other parts of the country, winds will remain light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. Residents and travelers in the affected areas are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions against the inclement weather conditions.
