Bandar seri begawan: The Ministry of Education, through the Department of Scholarship Management, has awarded His Majesty’s Government Overseas Scholarship and His Majesty’s Government Scholarship under the Special Scholarship Scheme to International Schools for the 2025/2026 academic session. The award ceremony took place at the Banquet Hall, Legislative Council Building on the afternoon of September 3rd.
According to Radio Television Brunei, 51 students received the His Majesty’s Government Overseas Scholarship for pursuing Bachelor’s Degrees. Among them, four students were awarded under His Majesty’s Government Special Scholarship Scheme, with a commitment to serve as educators at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education for the 2025/2026 session.
The awards were presented by Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, the Minister of Education. Additionally, 20 students will continue their studies at the secondary level, and another 20 students will advance to pre-university studies with His Majesty’s Government Scholarship under the Special Scholarship Scheme to International Schools.
Earlier in the day, an Agreement Signing Ceremony for the 51 scholarship recipients was held. Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad, the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education, was in attendance.
