Gadong: 22 students who were offered scholarships from the Ministry of Religious Affairs for the 2025/2026 Academic Session to study abroad and within the country were feted at a Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony. Organised by the Islamic Studies Department, the ceremony took place at a hotel in Gadong on the morning of September 3.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the award letters were presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. Of the 22 students, 15 will pursue undergraduate studies in the Arab Republic of Egypt, two will pursue their undergraduate education in Malaysia, and five students will receive a Special ‘A’ Level Scheme scholarship to study at Jerudong International School.
The graduates also shared in an interview with RTB their hope that the experience and skills gained while studying at Universiti Teknologi Brunei, UTB, will be used to help develop the country.
