Bandar seri begawan: The Ministry of Religious Affairs, in partnership with the Public Works Department, Ministry of Development, is addressing delays in the New Mosque Construction Project for the Kampung Lumut National Housing Scheme. The Ministry of Religious Affairs shared in a press release that the project has faced setbacks due to the termination of the contract with the initial contractor in April 2026.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the contract termination arose from performance issues, as the project did not meet the established requirements and specifications. The ministries are now taking steps to appoint a new, qualified contractor to resume the project. Ensuring the project's completion within the targeted timeline while maintaining quality standards is a top priority for the involved parties.
