Resolution Approved for Development Fund Allocation in Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan: The session has approved a significant resolution under Clause 7, Article 83 of the Constitution of Brunei Darussalam 1959.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the resolution involves the allocation of 480 million dollars under Section 4(2) of the Development Fund Act, Chapter 136. This sum is to be allocated, approved, and requested from the Development Fund for specific purposes in the Development Expenditure for the fiscal year 2025/2026. The proposal was put forward by the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.

Additionally, the council approved another resolution related to Article 83(7) of the Constitution of Brunei Darussalam 1959. This resolution specifies that every order made under Article 83(3) shall be effective from the date on which the orders are made. The proposal for this resolution was made by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, who serves as the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence.
