Forty One out of Forty Six registered teams have qualified to join the prototype competition including the Perkasa Darussalam from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD in the battery-electric concept. The competition is held at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia.
Perkasa Darussalam was in the top 20 group. The Mantuka Aswad Perkasa Darussalam, is the 8th prototype vehicle built by the UBD team since participating in the competition for the first time in 2012. Participating in the competition is hoped to give students experience and knowledge as well as 21st Century Skills. Organised by Shell Eco-marathon Asia-Pacific and Middle East 2023, the competition brings together 75 teams from 13 countries from across the Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
