Bandar seri begawan: The Department of Zakat, Waqaf and Baitulmal Affairs held the Presentation of Haj Package Payments to Haj Operators and distributed pocket money to 20 selected new converts. These individuals met the conditions to obtain Haj Fare from His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, enabling them to perform the Fardhu Haj for the 1447 Hijrah/2026 Haj Season. Each recipient received a fare amounting to 4,500 Brunei Dollars, in line with the rates provided to Government officials. The event was conducted on the afternoon of April 13 at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the payments were handed over by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Awang Haji Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Awang Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs and the Yang Di-Pertua of the Religious Council of Brunei Darussalam. The Religious Council also distributed the Asnaf Mualaf Tithe Money Collection for haj package payments to Darussalam Services Sendirian Berhad and Al-Hijrah Travel Tours Sendirian Berhad for the 20 new converts. In addition to the fare, each new convert received pocket money.
