Post: PNP Confirms Full Support for Marcos Administration, Denies Destabilization Plans

QUEZON CITY - The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Marcos administration and categorically denied any involvement in destabilization efforts. This clarification comes amidst speculations of political unease within its ranks.

According to Philippines News Agency, the PNP is fully committed to maintaining national security and upholding the sovereignty of the Philippines. This statement was in response to inquiries about former President Rodrigo Duterte's comments on the military and police's vigilance over political activities in the House of Representatives, particularly concerning the alleged emerging alliance between Speaker Martin Romualdez and ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro.

Col. Fajardo emphasized that the PNP will not engage in any actions aimed at destabilizing the government. She pointed out that while the PNP is prepared to defend the country's security and sovereignty, it should remain detached from political controversies. She reiterated that the PNP's primary mandate is to enforce the laws of the country and that, as an institution, it stands firmly behind the current administration.

During his SMNI program on Wednesday, former President Duterte urged Congress to be aware of the sentiments of the military and police. He highlighted the sacrifices made by security forces in their confrontations with the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA) rebels, stressing the need for vigilance.

This statement from the PNP comes in the wake of a complaint filed against the former president by Rep. Castro, who accused Duterte of grave threats and red-tagging.
