Post: PKBN Extended to 6 Months

Bandar seri begawan: The National Service Programme, PKBN has now been extended to a period of six months as an effort to strengthen the development of self-identity and preparedness of the nation's youth. Conducted by the National Service Division, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the programme also introduced several improvements in line with current needs.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the National Service Division updated the existing curriculum and training modules by emphasizing aspects of current skills, including job marketability and entrepreneurship. At the same time, aspects of discipline, spirituality and self-identity formation are also strengthened to be more relevant to current needs.

The Civil Defence Programme component is implemented in collaboration with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Royal Brunei Police Force and the Fire and Rescue Department.

Members of the public who are interested to know more about the six-month PKBN can attend the roadshow session which will be held on 26th May at the Lecture Hall, Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium at 2 in the afternoon and 27th May at the Kuala Belait Municipal Hall, at 10 in the morning.
