Post: PHP5 Million Worth of Shabu Seized in Bacolod City Drug Operations

Bacolod City, Philippines - The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) successfully apprehended two high-value drug suspects and confiscated approximately PHP5.032 million worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations.

According to Philippines News Agency, Marlon Coral Pango, identified as a member of the Caunda Drug Group, was arrested early Thursday in Barangay 30. According to Lt. Col. Ronnie Brillo, BCPO spokesperson, Pango was caught selling PHP10,000 worth of suspected shabu to undercover officers. Further search yielded eight plastic bags and sachets containing 640 grams of shabu, valued at PHP4.352 million. Brillo highlighted that the arrest was a culmination of weeks of intelligence monitoring, and Pango's involvement in drug activities had been on the police's radar. Pango, previously arrested for drug-related charges, is now detained at Police Station 6.

In a related operation on Wednesday evening, Rodney Nuñez Benedicto was arrested in Barangay 6. He was caught selling PHP15,000 worth of shabu, and additional seizures brought the total to 100 grams, worth PHP680,000. Charges are being prepared against both suspects under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
