BUTUAN CITY – In a major operation, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) along with the Philippine National Police from three Mindanao regions, destroyed illegal drugs valued at approximately PHP34.3 million.
According to Philippines News Agency, the destroyed drugs, totaling 51,807.9 grams, were seized in various operations across the Caraga (Region 13), Davao (Region 11), and Soccsksargen (Region 12) regions. The destruction event took place at Orgon Wood Industries, Inc. in Butuan City. Abellanosa noted that the operation was part of an ongoing effort to prevent the recycling of seized drugs. The breakdown of the destroyed drugs includes 4,209 grams of shabu, worth PHP28.6 million, and 47,598.9 grams of dried marijuana, valued at PHP5.7 million. The specifics of the origins include 1,623 grams of shabu and 348 grams of marijuana from Caraga; 565.9 grams of shabu and 16,072 grams of marijuana from Soccsksargen; and 2,019.9 grams of shabu and 31,178 grams of marijuana from Davao.
