Philippines Named Best Diving Destination at Beijing Expo

Beijing-The Philippines has been awarded the title of Best Diving Destination at the 2024 Diving Resort Travel (DRT) Show in Beijing, reaffirming its status as a top global dive location. The country also received the Best Tourism Promotion Partnership Award at the event, which took place from August 1 to 4.

According to Philippines News agency, the DRT Show is recognized as the largest dive exhibition in the region, drawing in hundreds of thousands of attendees each year. Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime FlorCruz highlighted the significant contributions of diving to the Philippine economy, noting that it generated over PHP73 billion in 2023—a substantial increase from the previous year. The Department of Tourism continues to focus on enhancing dive tourism, including the introduction of additional hyperbaric chambers across key destinations to support diver safety and health.
