Philippine Embassy Facilitates Return of 13 Filipinos from Gaza
Manila – A group of 13 Filipino repatriates, along with their families, arrived from the Gaza Strip at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Wednesday afternoon. They traveled via Qatar Airways, constituting the fourth batch of repatriates, bringing the total number of Filipinos returned from Gaza to 102. This group, comprising Filipinos and their Palestinian spouses and children, returned to the Philippines amidst the escalating conflict between Israel and the militant group Hamas. According to the Philippine Embassy in Egypt, the repatriation operation was coordinated with the Philippine Embassies in Jordan and Israel, and they extended their appreciation to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for facilitating the Filipinos’ entry into Egypt through the Rafah border.
According to Philippines News Agency, Upon reaching Cairo, the group was welcomed by DFA Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega. They were provided with accommodation before their flight back to the Philippines. De Vega, during his recent visit to Egypt, expressed gratitude to the Egyptian government for its support in evacuating Filipinos from Gaza and Sudan in April.
