Post: Philippine Customs Agency Targets Up to PHP 1 Trillion Revenue Contribution

MANILA – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has set a goal to deliver up to PHP 1 trillion to the Philippine government's revenue in the current year.

According to Philippines News Agency, the agency is hopeful to garner between PHP 900 million and PHP 1 trillion from its revenue surplus by the year's end. Maronilla emphasized the significance of these collections to the financing of government programs. He noted that the BOC's efforts are critical to the government's financial health, alongside collections by the Bureau of Internal Revenue and other revenue-gathering entities.

To date, the BOC has confiscated smuggled goods valued at approximately PHP 40 billion, marking a historic high for the agency. Maronilla attributed this achievement to the collaborative efforts of Commissioner Rubio, Deputy Commissioners for Intelligence Juvymax Uy and Teddy Raval, combining effective intelligence with efficient enforcement.
