Pangasinan to Get P12-M Super Health Center in Agno Town
Pangasinan – Residents in the remote areas of Pangasinan’s first district will soon have improved access to medical services with the commencement of construction for a PHP12 million super health center in Agno town. Glen Ramos, the communications unit head of the Department of Health (DOH) Center for Health Development, announced this development in a statement on Thursday.
According to Philippines News Agency, the health facility will be strategically located along the provincial highway in Barangay Bangan-Oda, about five kilometers from the town proper. The super health center will offer a range of services including outpatient clinics, a pharmacy, primary clinical laboratory, radiology, birthing and lying-in facilities, and tuberculosis consultation with sputum smear processing capabilities. The project’s funding includes PHP10 million from this year’s national budget under the Hospital Facility Enhancement Program and an additional PHP2 million from the Agno municipal government. Jimuel Cardenas, Regional Local Health Support Division chief, described the facility as a one-stop-shop for all outpatient medical services. Agno Mayor Gualberto Sison expressed gratitude to the DOH during the groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, emphasizing the center’s role in enhancing the health of local residents once completed.
