Sultan of Brunei Awards State Decorations to 36 Recipients

Bandar seri begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, conferred state decorations to 36 recipients as part of His Majesty’s 79th Birthday Celebration. The ceremony took place at Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman, in the afternoon of September 2nd.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was graced by the presence of His Majesty’s sons and brother, including His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, along with His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah. His Majesty began by conferring the Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar Darjah Keempat, or The Most Eminent Order of Islam Brunei Fourth Class, to an officer from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The ceremony saw 31 recipients being awarded the Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia Darjah Keempat, or The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei Fourth Class. These recipients included officers from various sectors such as the Prime Minister’s Office, His Majesty’s Office, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and private companies. The state decorations are seen as an encouragement for the recipients to continue their exemplary service.

Additionally, four individuals were conferred the Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar Darjah Kelima, or The Most Eminent Order of Islam Brunei Fifth Class, comprising officers from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The Doa Selamat was recited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti. The event was also attended by Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Councils, Deputy Ministers, and other distinguished guests.
