BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Over five thousand Primary Four religious school pupils across the nation commenced their school session on January 2, 2025, as part of the 'Sekolahku, Ilmuku, Ugamaku, Keberkatanku' (SIUK) programme. This initiative, introduced by the Islamic Studies Department, aims to improve the quality of religious education by fostering a positive and conducive learning environment.
According to Radio Television Brunei, in the Brunei Muara District alone, 3,577 pupils from 76 religious schools are participating in the four-day programme. The initiative includes a series of religious activities designed to emphasize the importance of religious education and its role in shaping the pupils' understanding and appreciation of their faith.
In the Belait District, 746 pupils from 16 schools are engaged in the SIUK programme. The activities are tailored to instill positive Islamic values in the pupils, contributing to their overall development and empowerment through education.
Meanwhile, in the Tutong District, 598 pupils from 30 schools are taking part in the programme. The activities planned for these pupils aim to prepare them for the new school year and help them adapt to the school environment, ensuring a smooth transition into their learning sessions.
In the Temburong District, 95 pupils from 12 schools have also commenced their Primary Four sessions, joining their peers in the nationwide initiative to enhance religious education through the SIUK programme.
