‘Operasi Kabat’ Targets Immigration Violations in Brunei.
Bandar Seri Begawan: The Department of Immigration and National Registration executed two law enforcement operations under ‘Operasi Kabat JIPK 2024’, focusing on multiple locations across Brunei Darussalam.
According to Radio Television Brunei, during the ‘Operasi Kabat’ in the Mukim Telisai Area, authorities apprehended an individual suspected of employing an immigration offender, while another person was believed to be working without the original employer. Both individuals were arrested and transferred to the Law Enforcement Division for further investigation.
Additionally, the operations targeted foreign workers’ quarters in Mukim Kilanas and Mukim Pengkalan Batu, as well as rental houses in Mukim Kota Batu. Among 36 foreigners inspected, 12 were arrested and taken to the Law Enforcement Division. Four of those arrested failed to present valid documents, another four were believed to have overstayed their immigration passes, and the remaining four were suspected of working under a social visit pass.
