Obama and Clinton Commend Biden’s Tenure Following His Decision Not to Run

WASHINGTON — Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have publicly praised President Joe Biden following his announcement to not seek reelection in the upcoming November presidential race, a decision that has positioned Vice President Kamala Harris as the endorsed Democratic presidential nominee.

According to Philippines News Agency, Obama lauded Biden as “one of America’s most consequential presidents” and “a patriot of the highest order.” He credited Biden with steering the nation away from what he described as the “chaos, falsehood, and division” of Donald Trump’s administration. However, notably, Obama did not extend an endorsement to Harris in his remarks.

Bill Clinton, joined by his wife Hillary Clinton, also expressed admiration for Biden’s leadership, highlighting his role in navigating the country through a severe pandemic, economic recovery, job creation, and efforts to bolster democracy and international relations. “President Biden has capped his extraordinary career of service with a Presidency that has lifted America out of an unprecedented pandemic, created millions of new jobs, rebuilt a battered economy, strengthened our democracy, and restored our standing in the world,” Clinton stated.

Furthermore, the Clintons not only commended Biden’s achievements but also officially endorsed Kamala Harris for the presidency. They expressed their commitment to support her campaign, stating, “We will do whatever we can to support her.”
