Post: Flag Hoisting to Mark 80th Royal Birthday Celebration

Bandar seri begawan: In conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 80th Birthday Celebration, the country's citizens and residents are to hoist the national flag at their respective homes, offices, and business premises. Decorative lights should also be installed starting the 1st of July 2026 until the 8th of August 2026. Pengiran and people bestowed with titles are to hoist their respective flags, while the public are to hoist the national flag.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the nationwide flag hoisting initiative is part of the celebratory activities planned for the milestone occasion. The initiative aims to foster unity and patriotism among the citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam. The period for the flag hoisting and light decorations has been set to extend over a month, allowing ample time for participation from all corners of the nation.

The Sultan's 80th birthday marks a significant event for Brunei, and the national flag hoisting serves as a visual representation of the people's respect and admiration for their leader. Citizens are encouraged to partake in this initiative to demonstrate their national pride and contribute to the festive atmosphere.
