According to Philippines News Agency, the seismic event not only increased the death toll to 137 but also left 166 individuals injured. The magnitude 6.4 quake has resulted in considerable structural damage and initiated a large-scale rescue operation.

The tremors were felt as far as northern India, prompting reactions and expressions of solidarity from leaders.
