Bandar Seri Begawan – In celebration of International Museum Day 2024, the Museums Department’s Archaeology and Monument Division is hosting the “Pameran Manik: 1000 Tahun” (Beads Exhibition: 1000 Years) at the Brunei Darussalam Maritime Museum. The exhibition, which opened on May 18, 2024, aims to showcase the discoveries in the field of archaeology, particularly beaded artifacts.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was inaugurated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The exhibition builds on the momentum of the 2013 Seminar on Archaeology, Linguistic, Historical and Cultural Findings in Borneo and the Se-Borneo Bead Exhibition. It seeks to foster community engagement and encourage further research and knowledge sharing in archaeology. The public can visit the exhibition over three days, starting from its opening.
