Post: National Level Nuzul Al-Qur’an Celebration 1447H Highlighted by Crown Prince’s Emphasis on Al-Qur’an Learning

Berakas: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, underscored the significance of collaborative efforts in reinforcing the study and internalisation of Al-Qur'an at the National Level Nuzul Al-Qur'an Celebration for 1447 Hijrah. During the event held at the International Convention Centre, His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of an authentic and straightforward tadabbur approach, in line with this year's theme, 'Strengthening the Learning of Al-Quran and Internalising Its Teachings'. The theme is a continuation of His Majesty's aspiration to position Al-Qur'an as the cornerstone of life. The event witnessed the presence of His Royal Highness' brothers, Prince 'Abdul Malik and Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

According to Radio Television Brunei, upon arrival, His Royal Highness was welcomed by notable dignitaries including Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris, Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara, and several ministers such as Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Awang Haji Badaruddin, Minister of Religious Affairs. The ceremony also included participation from the Executive Committee for National Level Major Islamic Event Celebrations for 1447 Hijrah.

The event commenced with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Salim. In his address, the Minister of Religious Affairs stressed the need to enhance the study of Al-Qur'an beyond mere reading and memorisation, advocating for a deeper understanding.

His Royal Highness expounded on the practice of Tadabbur Al-Qur'an, which encompasses the internalisation of TILAWAH, TA'LIM, and TAZKIYAH. He emphasized the esteemed role of a MUFASSIR, or interpreter of Al-Qur'an, noting that it demands extensive knowledge and adherence to strict scholarly discipline.

The ceremony proceeded with presentations by winners of the National Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Memorisation and Understanding for 1447 Hijrah across five categories. Participants demonstrated memorisation and comprehension skills, with Category 'A' focusing on Juz 30 for ages 13 and below, and Category 'B' on selected Surahs for ages 14 and above. Categories 'C', 'D', and 'E' were open to all ages, covering varying extents of memorisation and understanding.

His Royal Highness presented prizes to the winners, with Dayang Nur Syifa Hasanah binti Mohammad Fikri winning Category A, and Dayang Ainaa Zunah Insyirah binti Haji Abdul Manap securing Category B. Dayang Siti Nurzawanah binti Mohammad Saidin emerged victorious in Category C, while Category D was won by Dayang Ameerah Batrisyia Sarah Huwaina binti Haji Amir Hisham. The champion of Category E was Awang Ahmad Huzaifah bin Haji Awang Hasbi.

The event was organised collaboratively by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Development, the MABIMS Centre for Al-Qur'an Studies and Dissemination, and Brunei Darussalam Central Bank.
