Bandar Seri Begawan: The ‘Mushroom Discovery Week: Spore to Science” event serves as a platform for researchers, students, and the general public to explore and exchange knowledge about fungi in innovative ways. This event included workshops, discussions, and interactive activities focusing on the significance of fungi to ecology and their economic potential. The event commenced at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) on the morning of June 3rd.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the launch was officiated by Awang Reni bin Haji Yahya, the Acting Director of Forestry, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism. The “Mushroom Discovery Week: Spore to Science” is organized by the Botanical Research Centre and the Institute for Biodiversity and Environmental Research at UBD, in collaboration with the Forestry Department. The event is held in conjunction with the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition, the UBD ‘STEAM Festival’ 2025, and UBD’s 40th-anniversary events.
