Musabaqah Al-Qur’an Memorisation Concludes at International Convention Centre


Berakas: In a continuous effort to produce Al-Qur’an memorisers and encourage daily reading practices, the MABIMS Centre for Al-Qur’an Studies and Dissemination held the final event of the National Musabaqah Al-Qur’an Memorisation and its Understanding for the year 1446 Hijrah. The two-day event commenced on the morning of February 11th at the International Convention Centre.



According to Radio Television Brunei, the musabaqah saw the participation of 20 individuals competing in four out of five categories. Category A was designed for participants aged 13 and below, focusing on memorising one chapter. Category B was for those aged 14 and above, involving the memorisation and understanding of selected surahs. Category C was open to all ages, requiring the memorisation and understanding of three chapters. Category D involved the memorisation of 15 chapters with understanding. The competition is set to continue on February 12th, 2025, for Category E.



The event was attended by Awang Bahrin bin Mohammad Yassin, Acting Director of Prisons, highlighting the importance of this initiative in promoting the memorisation and comprehension of the Al-Qur’an among different age groups and communities.
