Monarch Appreciates Legislative Council’s Role in National Development Agenda

Bandar Seri Begawan: Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs, highlighted the Monarch’s high appreciation for the commitment of the Members of the Legislative Council in advancing the national development agenda. The Minister emphasized the significance of engagement sessions as a crucial platform for exchanging views between the Government and the people.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Minister remarked on the uniqueness of Brunei’s Legislative Council as outlined in the nation’s constitution. This uniqueness, he noted, does not detract from the Council’s function, value, or importance as an open meeting platform. It offers citizens and residents the opportunity to learn about the meeting methods and systems of other nations and to assess their appropriateness, given the distinct social and political landscape of Brunei Darussalam compared to other countries.
