Post: Meteorological Department Issues Active Weather Advisory Until November 20

Brunei Darussalam: The Meteorological Department of Brunei Darussalam has issued an active weather advisory, effective from tomorrow afternoon through to Monday, November 20th. This announcement aims to alert the public, including road users and fishermen, to the expected adverse weather conditions.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the forecast includes heavy and thundery showers, particularly in the inland areas during the afternoon, with the possibility of spreading to coastal regions at night. Wind speeds may reach up to 45 kilometers per hour during or near these heavy showers. The Department warns of the risk of flash floods in low-lying and flood-prone areas, as well as near riverbanks, especially during continuous heavy rains and high tides. Additionally, there is a risk of landslides and falling trees during heavy showers or gusty conditions, further emphasizing the need for heightened safety precautions during this period.
