MATNOG - In a significant drug enforcement operation, Philippine authorities apprehended two individuals and confiscated shabu valued at approximately PHP14.28 million in Matnog, Sorsogon. The operation, carried out by the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), targeted two high-value suspects known as "Pan" and "Ham," both originating from Lanao del Sur.
According to Philippines News Agency, spokesperson for the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO5), the operation resulted in the seizure of 100 grams of suspected shabu in plastic sachets, estimated at PHP680,000, and an additional 2,000 grams in vacuum-sealed tea bags, collectively valued at PHP13.6 million. The arrests and confiscations mark a critical achievement in the region's ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug distribution and consumption. The suspects are currently in custody at the Matnog Municipal Police Station, with formal charges being prepared against them.
