The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has continued its efforts to empower communities with the turnover of new infrastructure projects in Maguindanao del Sur and Lanao del Sur.
According to Philippines News Agency, Bangsamoro Member of Parliament (MP) Diamila Disimban-Ramos presided over the handover ceremony of a Multi-Purpose Learning Center to Barangay Sampao residents in Guindulungan, Maguindanao del Sur. The project, valued at PHP1.85 million, was financed under MP Ramos' 2021 Transitional Development Impact Fund. The facility aims to enhance skills development and project management capacities of local communities.
During the event, MP Ramos emphasized the importance of the learning center as a pivotal tool for community development, particularly for women, youth, senior citizens, and others. Guindulungan Vice Mayor Ghiadzali Rene Midtimbang expressed gratitude for the first BARMM infrastructure project in the barangay, while Barangay Chairman Datu Elthon Pandita acknowledged its significant benefits for residents.
Additionally, the residents of Barangay Tuca Maul in Marantao, Lanao del Sur, received three new projects: a public toilet, a children's playground, and 33 units of solar street lights, totaling PHP4.6 million, funded under MP Ramos' 2021 TDIF project. The projects symbolize the collective aspiration for a safer, more progressive future, particularly for the youth. Lawyer Abdul Rahman Rasad, representing Marantao Mayor Akira Alonto, highlighted the significance of these projects in community development.
