Bangkok: A local writer brought honour to the country when she was selected to receive the Southeast Asian Write Award 2024. The Awarding Ceremony was held at Sukhothai Palace, Bangkok, Thailand, on 16th December 2025.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Dayang Hajah Nur Hamizah binti Haji Samihon received the award for her novel titled “Dua Puluh”. The award was presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya. Introduced in 1979, the award recognizes the creativity of leading writers and poets from Southeast Asian countries.
